When I was zooming with the mouse scroll wheel, it was changing the area of focus - zooming into the bottom left instead of the middle of the viewing area or the location of the cursor. There’s lots of space in the tool bar area at the top. The method of switching between Mask/Keep/Cut is frustrating having to activate a drop down. I tried to start in AI then finish up in v.5, but that’s a no-go. Mask (TIFF) files do not seem to be compatible between AI and Remask 5. Click with RED, and it takes away some background where you click, but adds some back in nearby. If I feel like beating my head against a wall later today, I'll try another edit, without the mask. Especially images exported from Photoshop 2020. I used the mask function to select a small section of the image (as a test to see if it reduces the otherwise extremely long process time - which it does), but hadn't thought about the mask being the cause of the crash. If Photoshop is already open, then a standalone Mask AI again crashes. When I zoom in to tweak the edges by dabbing with green/red brush, it seems to adjust things in other areas, and not in a good way. You may get this error while processing certain images in Gigapixel AI. Mask AI works well as a standalone application and crashes as a plug-in of Photoshop. ![]() So there is no longer the “Color Range” tool to tweak the detailed areas? It wouldn’t be a problem if the AI rendered that redundant, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I find that I can get a better mask using PS built in selection and refine mask tools. ![]() I watched a couple of video tutorials on using Mask AI. SOLVED Merely a matter of copying the links to the Topaz Labs plugin from where they worked in PS CS6. Checking out ReMask AI and experiencing some of the same reservations as others. I tried out Mask AI on both landscape photographs, masking fine foliage from a sky and on portraits, masking fine hair from a green screen.
